As part of the Newcastle Building Society Group, we work to provide colleagues with an inclusive environment in which to work, welcoming colleagues from a variety of social backgrounds and life experiences, encouraging diversity of thought and allowing colleagues to be themselves.
In 2019, we proudly signed the Armed Forces Covenant, achieving the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver award in recognition of our commitment. By making this pledge, we committed to support those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families – from offering flexibility in working hours and leave around deployment to colleagues with family in the forces and offering support to colleagues who choose to be members of the Reserve forces, to supporting cadet units in our local community.
This year, we’re proud to be a part of the #VeteranSupportPartnership led by the NHS Business Services Authority. The Veteran Support Partnership is a group of organisations joining together to help eliminate barriers to opportunities and enable the Armed Forces Community to reach their full potential. Throughout 2021, the partnership is hosting a series of virtual events and we’re looking forward to being part of it!
At the first event on 12th May 2021, our Financial Crime Manager, Sarah, and Newcastle Financial Services adviser, Chris, will be joining the team to help highlight the support available to Veterans and their families alongside a range of speakers! Find out more and register here!
